Sheikh Yusuf Al Maqassari, an Indonesian Muslim of noble descent.

He was known as a Sufi Scholar

was exiled to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa,

his tomb is in Cape Town.

Nelson Mandela mentioned him

as an inspiring figure for his struggle for South Africa

Lily Siti Multatuliana is a poet, lecturer, translator, and essayist, born in 1958 in Bogor Indonesia. She lives in Jakarta, Indonesia. Lily writes poetry and essays on literature and culture. She is the translator of English poems into Indonesian for the Belgian publishing house Point Editions (POetry INTernational).  She is active in poetry reading in various countries. Her Poems are published in Anthology with Asian poets and International poets and published in the newspaper in Indonesia and Malaysia. She received Award (2018) from Malaysia and Indonesia (2020). Her latest book is “Puisi tanpa Sempadan” the collection of translations from ITHACA POEMS.
