Born and lived in Yonkers, New York till 1979. Moved to Italy in 1979 learning a new language and learning in a new cultural environment. Started writing poems at a young age in English.

I love to read and recite Emily Dickinson and her great love for nature. I treasure Walt Whitman and his love for his mother country, America, my own. In Italy I began to read and to love poets like Giacomo Leopardi, learning my first Italian poem by heart, “L’infinito”, probably my favorite. As well as Cesare Pavese, so nostalgic, like me and Ugo Foscolo, far from his mother land. Began writing poems in Italian as well and in 2015. I then decided to participate to a Poetry Contest with a poem I had written for my father, who passed away in 2012, called “Tu e il Mare” (You and the Sea).

Pagine in Rome: Tracce (2015), Voci Versate (2018) e M’illumino d’immenso (2019).

In March 2020 I published my first Kindle collection: Poetry Corner di Antonia Petrone.

In December 2020 , I published “Le Poesie di Antonia” my first collection of poems in Italian with pictures. I love the Emblem genre.

In June 2021 “Poetry Garden” was published dedicated to Yonkers New York, my home town in USA.

In December 2022 “ Sul Pianeta della Passione was born, my latest collection of poems related to Passione, Love, Tango and Nature. This collection contains Haikus as well. I also have a love for reciting and reading poetry.

I work in Italy as a Translator and Interpreter. (I also translate books from Italian to English) I translated, “ Alle Corde” di Leandro Conti Celestini from Italian to English.

I have won national and international Poetry Merits.

I am Judge for the SAITTO INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

UNWPP Certificate for the spread of peace, harmony and love in the world for humanity through pearls of love, poetry, songs and voices.
