لا تسأل – كم عدد الأحياء الفقيرة التي استولى عليها الأشرار حتى الآن –

كم عدد المباني الشاهقة التي تم بناؤها – وكم عدد الأنهار

بعد أن أدرجت في قائمة القتلى

لا تسأل – كم من الأحلام البريئة أعدمت

كم من ظهيرة هادئة اغتصبت

كم عدد الأمسيات التي أعيدتعبر الحدود

وكم من ليال عاجزة دُفعت داخل الحدود

كم عدد أجنة الفجر التي تم العثور عليها في سلة المهملات

وكم بقعة دماء سالت بعد عض صدر الطرقات

كم من طفل أصبح إبل العرب

وكم من عيون طامحة تجمدت في البرد

لا تسأل- عن سر لمعان أسنان المتبرع

كيف تحولت الأموال السوداء إلى بيضاء

كيف سقط اليوم الكئيب لدى قرع الجرس

كيف أصبح الوقت لزجًا بسبب الكراهية

لا تسأل – من أراد أن يسرق رثاء الأم سراً

من أراد كسر الهرم

الذين قطعوا أصابع ماسلين

لا تسأل- كم عدد الجنادب المهتاجة

حاولت الصعود إلى الأفق

كم عدد القوارب التي علقت في العلف

كم عدد البحارة الذين اختطفتهم أسماك القرش

لا تسأل – من هو القاضي الذي يختبئ تحت ذيل الحرباء؟

من هم أولياء الأمور

الكهنة السكارى والملالي

لا تحاول أن تعرف عنوان أرواح المتوفين في الحرب المستقلة

لا تحاول أن تعرف عن الانقلاب الفاشل لقائد فاشل

لا تسأل- إذا كان السياسي يحيض

سواء أشرق القمر الآن أو عطشت النجوم

الشعراء يبكون أم لا

لا تسأل لماذا صارت الأيام أظلم من الليالي

Don’t ask-how the spring has disappeared this year

Don’t ask- the name of the last victim at the place of mass execution covered with fallen leaves

Don’t ask- how many slums have the ruffians taken over so far-

How many highrise buildings have been built- how many rivers

Have been included in the list of dead ones

Don’t ask- how many innocent dreams have been cast away

How many serene noons have been raped

How many evenings have been pushed back across the border

How many helpless nights have been pushed inside the border

How many fetuses of dawn have been found in the dustbin

How many blood stains have bitten the breast of the roads

How many children have become the camels of Arabs

And how many eyes of aspiration have been frozen in the cold

Don’t ask- about the mystery of the donor’s shiny teeth

How black money turned into white

How the gloomy day has fallen out of the tolling bell

How time has become sticky through hatred

Don’t ask- who have wanted to steal the lament of mother secretly

Who wanted to break the Pyramid

Who have cut off the fingers of Maslin

Don’t ask- how many agitated grasshoppers

Try to rise to the horizon

How many boats have been stuck in the forage

How many sailors have been kidnapped by the sharks

Don’t ask- which judge is in hiding under the chameleon’s tail

Who are the guardians of

Drunkard Priests and Mullahs

Don’t try to know about the address of the deceased souls of independent war

Don’t try to know about the failed coup of an unsuccessful commander

Don’t ask-if a politician menstruates

Whether the moon rises now or the stars get thirsty

The poets cry or not

Don’t ask-why days are darker than the nights

And why the history of writing this poem is so heartbreaking
